Australian Smoky Quartz - Curlicue - 55.03ct
The movement of light within this gem carving of Australian smoky quartz is many things, it is like light moving through syrup, vicsous and soft, gentle as it flows and washes around within the smooth fluid curves. The colours are rich and decadent. This is a beautiful piece to hold and caress with your fingers, soothing and meditative. It was a real pleasure to sculpt this fine piece of smoky quartz, to hold and work it with my hands. As the polish got better and better towards the end, it revealed it's colours and play of light and it was truly a joy to behold. This carving could be either left as a gem netsuke, an object d'dart or it could be set as a pendant or ring.
