Golden Citrine - Lion - 138.75ct
After finishing my mouse carving, for some reason unknown, I kept thinking about the fable of the mouse and the lion. Perhaps it was this nice big roundish piece of golden citrine I had on the shelf in front of me when I carve. For ages I didn’t know what to do with the piece of citrine, should I do this or should I do that. But now the mouse was finished I could see a lion clearly within the citrine. I wonder why I couldn’t see it before? Anyway, without any further hestitation off I went and started working on it. I wanted to experiement with the mane in particular and to try a new technique or two. Polishing was tricky but in the end my lion finished triumphant and I am very happy with the result. I hope you like it too.
