Blue Lace Agate - Reverse Intaglio Oval - Sailfish - 14.76ct

$1,480.00

Fishing was a big part of life when I was a kid growing up in Bowen on the North Queensland coast. Always down the jetty after school chasing travelly or mackerel. One of the legendary fish that you heard about were sailfish. They were big, beautiful, powerful and flamboyant with their large sail fin and sword-like bill. They were very acrobatic and would smash up large schools of baitfish creating havoc. They are a member of the billfish family, like marlin.

This reverse intaglio carving I did in blue lace agate. I have some material that looks like waves on a rough and choppy sea and I thought it would be perfect for a sailfish leaping. This piece could be worn as a signet ring or a pendant and is designed to be stamped in letter wax.
