These are some of my favourite round gem designs that I like to cut and are all proven performers.

Rose Cut (Traditional) - The Rose Cut is a classic gem design that has been around for a very long time. It cuts a gem that has a lower profile then usual on account of it's flat bottom. This makes it great for ring settings that you don't want to sit too high. The height and complexity of the crown facets can be adjusted as desired.

Spider (Bob Keller) - Facets : 192 - This is one of those designs that is really only seen close to the gemfields among topaz diggers and faceters. Its a bit of a status symbol, owning one of these spiders... its kind of like having a red-tailed black cockatoo feather in your hat (its an Aussie Outback thing :-). The design is best cut in a large topaz so that the spider can be clearly seen, generally at least 14mm or bigger (which is why topaz is usually used). They make great pendants and that is how you'll normally see one worn.

Sunflare (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 101 - I designed the "Sunflare" to be an exceptionally bright design with a high degree of scintillation and dispersion... and it delivers big time! The dispersion is like a fire of rainbow flashes and fireworks going off. Imagine glittering party confetti sprinkled inside the gem continually flashing and shining. Cut in topaz it makes a diamond envious! I very highly recommend this design.

Yin Yang (Fred Van Sant) - Facets : 74 - This is a favorite design of mine. It is lovely and graceful and has a simple elegance about it. The design has beautiful fan-like effects and Yin is frosted whilst Yang is polished.

Fleur De Lis (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 137 - A beautiful and strikingly elegant design that combines complexity with a classic anqitue touch. This design is best suited for larger stones above 8mm in size.

Kalli (Jeff Graham) - Facets : 185 - This design cuts an incredible gemstone! The gem is full of life and light, the colours are enhanced and there is a sense of depth, a 3D space inside. There are alot of facets so it is a time consuming design to cut so it does require patience.

Kiss Of Venus (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 91 - Inspiration can come from many sources and many muses. This gem design of mine is inspired by our most beautiful of celestial relationships, that between Earth and Venus. With the sun in the centre, if you were to look at the orbits of Venus and Earth over a period of eight years you would see a perfect five petaled flower appear. During this heavenly dance, Venus would turn to 'kiss' the Earth five times. She is the brightest light in our night sky, the first to appear and the last to leave. When next you look up into the heavens and you see her there, take a moment to wonder and gaze upon our most beautiful dance partner... Venus.

Majestic (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 105 - I wanted to create a design that encapsulated a number of key design considerations and had a beauty and elegance that I found very pleasing to the eye. I didn't want it to have a straight severe pavilion like a Standard Round Brilliant, rather I wanted a more fuller and rounded profile, more... Rubenesque. It had to have a very high yield, enhance the colour and have excellent performance and pattern action. The resulting design is one that I am very happy with and it cuts a spectacular gemstone and has a classical elegance and style to it. Enjoy!

Mini Mint (Jeff Graham) - Facets : 65 - This is a variation of the Standard Round Brilliant specifically tailored for smaller stones. With small stones, less is more.

PHI Flower Dome (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 161 - Gemstones cut in this design have an exceptional fire (dispersion) flashing through the dome crown.
The design is magic in natural blue topaz and the lighter tones of tourmaline. Phi Flower Dome has a very high facet count of 161 which puts it immediately into a very demanding category of design to cut.

Bingara aka Sandalphonic Elements (Doug Menadue) - Facets : 221 - This is a high performance dome design with 221 facets. It is based on a geometric sketch I did a little while ago when I was traveling around Australia and is called 'Bingara' after the lovely place where I was camped at the time. I took this sketch and modeled it into a new 3d gem design. This design is ideally suited to a large stone lightly coloured, like topaz, natural blue topaz, rose de france amethyst, citrine and the like. It would be perfect for a unique and stunning cocktail ring setting or a large collector's stone. I do also refer to this design as 'Sandalphonic Elements'.
